Transport Links
Roads
Located on the A1(M), Stevenage has excellent transport links with the
rest of the country and is at the heart of the nation's motorway network.
The M25 London Orbital is only 15 minutes driving time from the town
centre. To the North, the M1 and A1(M) connect Stevenage with the West
Midlands, Greater Manchester and the North East. The recently opened
A14 dual carriageway completes the East/West link with the M6 and to
the major East Coast seaports at Harwich and Felixstowe.
Wide dual carriageway roads lead from the motorway junctions 7 and
8 of the A1(M) to the town centre and main employment areas and roundabouts
at all main junctions ensuring the traffic flows smoothly.
