Employers for the EnvironmentWhat is E4E? E4E stands for Employers for the Environment and was formed in late 1998 out of the Local Agenda 21 initiative. It is the only environmentally aware SME’s and major employers. E4E was created to focus the attention of businesses towards environmental issues within the area. It's purpose is to:
Who makes up E4E? E4E has around 80 members and a steering group, which supports and actively promotes the aims, goals and objectives of the members. The group holds open forums on a four-monthly basis to discuss any issues that need addressing and an expert or guest speaker is usually present to hold a seminar on a particular topic. A free newsletter is also published. How has E4E helped businesses become more environmentally aware? The setting up of E4E has provided the opportunity for major employers and SME's to work together, take note of the problems that affect each other and share an understanding about the environmental issues that affect all sized businesses. Problems are then identified, examined together and ideas are suggested on how to resolve them. How much does it cost to join E4E? Nothing! E4E is free to join thanks to larger companies who donate their services through good will.
